Market Assistant – Jewelry Sales (Seasonal, Part-Time)

About Us:

Blue Poppy Jewelry is a locally owned, ocean-inspired jewelry business offering permanent jewelry, chain rings, body chains, and hand-crafted gemstone & pearl pieces. We do various local pop-ups in Myrtle Beach and surrounding towns, bringing timeless jewelry to the community.

Position Overview:

We’re looking for a friendly, outgoing Market Assistant to help sell jewelry, engage with customers, process payments, track inventory, and create content at pop-up markets. Strong people skills and great communication are a must!

This is a seasonal position running from April through August (exact end date TBD). The job also requires working outdoors for long periods of time in various weather conditions, so applicants should be comfortable being outside.

📆 Availability:

    •    Tuesdays @ Surfside Beach, 9 AM - 3 PM (required)

    •    Some Saturdays (flexible)

    •    Seasonal position from April/May – end of August (exact start and end date TBD)

    •    Must be able to travel to pop-up locations in Myrtle Beach & surrounding towns

Responsibilities:

    •    Greet and assist customers with a warm, welcoming attitude

    •    Provide product information and help customers choose jewelry

    •    Process payments via Square, Venmo, and cash

    •    Monitor and prevent theft, ensuring all jewelry stays secure

    •    Track inventory, restock, and keep displays organized

    •    Take videos and behind-the-scenes content at each market

    •    Possibly post on social media during markets (Instagram stories, reels, TikToks, etc.)

    •    Work outdoors for several hours at a time in different weather conditions

Qualifications:

✅ Excellent people skills – outgoing, friendly, and engaging

✅ Strong communication skills – confident in talking to customers

✅ Sales/retail experience (preferred)

✅ Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy

✅ Comfortable handling payments and tracking inventory

✅ Physically able to stand for long periods

✅ Comfortable working outdoors for extended hours

✅ Able to travel to different pop-up locations in Myrtle Beach & surrounding areas

✅ Social media savvy (Instagram, TikTok, or content creation experience is a plus!)
